Melissa Dietstein is a professional artist from Somerset West, South Africa. She graduated from Stellenbosch University in 2008 with a B.A Fine Arts Degree. Following ten years of professional photography, she traded her camera for paint brushes to become a full time artist.

Melissa has a fascination with the way light moves on the subject which is inspired by her background in photography. She has a deep love for people and a keen interest in psychology. She is currently exploring ways to express emotions through colour using portraits, figures and landscape as themes.
